We’re currently producing Diefenbaker: One Canada through crowdfunding, and this early support phase throughout summer 2026, is designed to help move the film into its next stage of production.

Choose from four supporter tiers, ranging from a simple advance ticket to a soundtrack package, collectible candle, and even an Early Supporter film credit.

Every contribution helps build momentum for an independent Canadian film rooted in history, ideas, and national purpose.

John Diefenbaker served for 39 years as a Member of Parliament.

For our fundraiser, we thought a fitting yardstick would be the House of Commons mace.

  • Funds will help support the next stages of the project, including script writing, development, production, editing, music, fees, tools, research, and marketing.

  • Our goal is to complete the film within one year, depending on funding levels and a smooth production process. As with any independent film, timing can sometimes change, but we are committed to bringing the project through to completion and keeping supporters updated on major progress points. Early supporters will also be treated to sample scenes along the way.

John G. Diefenbaker served as the Prime Minister of Canada from 1957 - 1963. This was a pivotal time in Canadian history, both with domestic reforms and international tension.

Diefenbaker’s accomplishments were many, and this film will examine both his achievements and the larger ideas at play in his life and times.
